Getting out on the water is key to building your confidence, increasing your fitness and refining your skills. The trips below are a great way to do this in a safe environment and with friendly people.

The trips are suitable for those who have been out in their craft, have the correct safety equipment and can cover a couple of miles – fitness wise. You don’t need to be an expert – just competent and happy to participate.

Dave ‘guides’ the trips and throws in some extra coaching where needed and appreciated.

The trips are mainly in the Midlands area.

You can take advantage of a range of trips offered including:

Alvechurch – A gentle paddle along the canal passed the boat yard and OVER the dam. That’s right, the canal goes over the dam – very scenic and a fantastic piece of engineering. Put in location: Here.

Brandwood Tunnel – Paddle through a busy area of Birmingham and reach the tunnel. We’ll paddle in – but not through the tunnel. Very scenic stretch of canal. Put in location: Here.

Coseley Tunnel – A great paddle along the canal and right through Thomas Telford’s tunnel – both ways! Seriously, don’t be rude. It’s what he would have wanted. Find out about the murder too! Bring a torch! Put in location: Here.

Gloucester Docks – A paddle to the vibrant waterway of Gloucester Docks. See the SALA Lighthouse Ship (if docked) and plenty of other awesome ships. Put in location: Here.

Sharpness and the Severn Estuary – Love this paddle. The canal runs right by the Severn Estuary and we’ll stop to see the ‘concrete’ barges before heading to Sharpness Marina and the SARA rescue station. Put in location: Here.

Under Spaghetti Junction – Paddle the canal right under the Junction. It’s noisy! A great mix of rural and urban canal to paddle. Bring your camera! Put in location: Here.
